Tu Antoni leones pertimescas cave. Nihil est illo homine iucundius. Attende πρᾶξιν πολιτικοῦ. Evocavit litteris e municipiis denos et IIII viros. Venerunt ad villam eius mane. Primum dormi<i>t ad H. III, deinde, cum esset nuntiatum venisse Neapolitanos et Cumanos (his enim est Caesar iratus), postridie redire iussit; lavari se velle et

Mind you don’t let Antony’s lions frighten you. He is really the most agreeable fellow. What do you think of the following act of statesmanship? He summoned by letter the Boards of Ten and Four from the towns. They arrived at his country house early in the morning. First he slept till 9 o’clock. Then, being informed that the bodies from Naples and Cumae (with whom Caesar is annoyed) had arrived, he told them to come back next day, as he wanted to
take a bath and satisfaire à ses besoins.

Commentary
