Paduan physician and humanist from Italian Renaissance. He was professor of practical medicine at the Studium Venetum of Padua before becoming court physician to the House of Este at Ferrara in 1440. In this new destiny he combined teaching at the University, practicing medicine for the ruling family (Niccolò, Borso and Leonello d’Este) and writing many treatises like Practica, Speculum physionomie, De aqua ardenti and De balneis et termis Ytalię.
