{"id":5830,"date":"2023-04-23T11:32:44","date_gmt":"2023-04-23T09:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/healingspasinantiquity.es\/\/?p=5830"},"modified":"2023-04-23T11:32:44","modified_gmt":"2023-04-23T09:32:44","slug":"new-congress-on-roman-baths-rome-18-20-october-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/healingspasinantiquity.es\/es\/new-congress-on-roman-baths-rome-18-20-october-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"New congress on Roman baths (Rome, 18-20 October 2023)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Roman Baths and Agency: The human factor in designing, building, using, experiencing, and maintaining bath buildings in the Roman territories (Rome, 18-20 October 2023)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sadi Mar\u00e9chal (Ghent University) &amp; Konogan Beaufay (CSCA &#8211; University of Cambridge), in collaboration with Maura Medri (Universit\u00e0 degli Studi Roma Tre) and with the support of the Axson Johnson Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture (University of Cambridge), the Academia Belgica, the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome and the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy &#8211; Ghent University, are organizing a new International conference on \u2018Roman Baths and Agency\u2019 in Rome (Academia Belgica), on 18-20 October 2023.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Some key themes and questions have been suggested: Bathing and society ; New technologies in bath studies; Experiencing baths <em>; P<\/em>lanning and building baths ; Beyond archaeological data; and Regional bathing.<\/p>\n<p>This conference thus aims at promoting a more holistic approach to Roman bathhouses and bathing habits by focusing on the human\u2013building interaction, and by <strong>replacing the individual and the collective at the centre of the research on Roman baths<\/strong>.
